The GCI was invited to participate to the third international workshop organized by UNITAR on Management and Conservation of World Heritage Sites.Jeff Cody and I participated as instructors and resource persons to this one-week workshop held in Hiroshima. Following is a summary account of the workshop. It is not intended to be an exhaustive report but simply an over-view to share with you some of the topics discussed and the technical visits that enriched the experience of the participants . >>>
A regional meeting entitled “Follow-up to Periodic Reporting and Information Management”, concerning the implementation of the World Heritage Regional Programme for the Arab States, was organized by the World Heritage Center and hosted by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA). It took place in Abu Dhabi from 4 to 8 December 2005, and included representatives from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan,Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen as well as international and regional professional institutions. >>>
